What is a Thermal Infrared Scan infrared electrical inspection infrared roo

Thermal Infrared Home Scans are used for many purposes.  The most common use is on Dryvit / Stucco homes for water intrusion.  Dryvit homes with water intrusion can be costly.  Plumbing and electrical issues tend to be the biggest issues when there are no prior inspections.  Thermal Infrared Scans can see if water is leaking in the walls and ceilings.  This eliminates most of the surprises that tend to be found weeks or months after moving in.  We take a lot of pride in our job to provide you with the most thorough, detailed and informational Inspection Report you can buy.  Below are a few of the things we use Thermal Infrared cameras to Inspect Homes and what you can expect.  Check out our HOME INSPECTION PRICING page for offers and pricing.

EIFS Dryvit and Stucco homes are especially vulnerable to moisture intrusion.  This can be an extremely costly issue if not discovered at the Home Inspection.  Most inspectors will see cracking and use and educated guess if water is entering.  (Oh great, need a Dryvit Guy now)  With Thermal Infrared there is no guessing if or where the water is coming in.

Electrical Thermal Infrared Inspections are used to simply look for hot spots.  These are usually inexpensive repairs found at the Home Inspection, but if not taken care of could lead to fire.  The receptacle above just needed the insulation pulled out from under the screw to keep it from arcing.  We scan all electrical components in the home so there are NO SURPRISES.

Water runs in pipes behind the walls.  How can you inspect these areas?  Thermal Infrared Inspections can detect water leaks in areas that are less visible.  We run water in the home everywhere for 30 minutes before scanning for leaks.  If left undetected Mold can cause sickness and headaches.  This is important to know there will be NO SURPRISES in the walls and ceilings.
